SW Tee ASME B16.11 Fittings
SW tee can socketed with the pipes and welding with the pipes.ASME B16.11 fittings are forged fittings according to American Standard.Tees can be equal tee and reducing tee. These tees have same functions, the only difference is reducing tee can reduce the flow in piping system.
The SW (Socket Welded) tee is a “T” type pipe fitting. The branch pipe has two outlets and is perpendicular to the main pipe. It is used to change the direction of the pipe so that the pipe is 90 degrees perpendicular to the pipe.SW fittings are belong to forged fittings.ASME B16.11 fittings are represents all forged fittings in American Standard.
Shapes:
Equal:This is a Pipe fitting with the same size on three sides.
Reducing:The main pipe of these tee is different from the diameter of the branch pipe, and the diameter of the main pipe is larger than that of the branch pipe.
Application:
They have applications in many industries, including chemical processing, petroleum, refining, marine waste treatment, utilities / power generation, industrial equipment, natural gas compression and distribution industries. Tee pipe is also recommended for industrial equipment hydrodynamic system.
Socket Weld(SW) fittings are high pressure fittings which are used in the pipe system, and only in conjunction with ASME pipes.SW fittings have same ranges of size(1/8”-4”) and pressures(2000lb,3000lb,6000lb,9000lb).
