Socket Weld Cross Forged Steel Pipe Fitting
Socket weld cross is a pipe fitting used to transport flow in the piping system.SW fittings are belong to forged steel pipe fittings, the other type of forged fitting is threaded fittings.Forged fittings are high pressure fittings used in many applications.
The four pipes of the socket weld (SW) cross are connected at the same point, which is a kind of forged steel pipe fitting.
Socket Weld(SW) fittings are high pressure fittings which are used in the pipe system, and only in conjunction with ASME pipes.SW fittings have same ranges of size(1/8”-4”) and pressures(2000lb,3000lb,6000lb,9000lb).
Class 3000 is the most common used among these pressures.Class 3000 can be labeled as 3M,where M means 1000,class 3000 fittings can withstand up to 3000 PSI.
There are two types of cross: Equal and Reducing.
Equal: This is a threaded cross with the same size on four sides.
Reducing: The main pipe with reducing cross is different from the size of the branch pipe, and the size of the main pipe is larger than that of the branch pipe.
