What is a Blind Flange?
The blind flange is basically a flange that does not have a hub or a bored center. Blind flanges have the face thickness of a flange, a matching face type, and similar bolting pattern. Blind flanges can also be used to seal a nozzle opening on a pressure vessel.
Blind(BL)flanges is used for terminating or isolating piping systems, they are essentially boltable blank discs. When installed properly and combined with the correct gaskets, they can achieve an outstanding seal which is easy to remove when needed.

Advantages of Blind Flange
Because valves may be located extremely far, even miles from where the work needs to be done, a blind flange allows you to stop the flow of fluid much closer to the job site. Valves are also known to stick and are very expensive to replace depending on the type of valve being used.
