ASME B16.9 Lap Joint Stub End
ASME B16.9 flanged nipples have a flange structure at one end. This flange is usually for easy connection with other flanges or pipe fittings.
ASME B16.9 flanged nipples have a flange structure at one end. This flange is usually for easy connection with other flanges or pipe fittings. ASME B16.9 is a standard for factory-made forged steel butt weld pipe fittings established by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). As one of the pipe fittings, the flange nipples have specific functions and application requirements in the pipeline system. The shape and size of the flange follow the ASME B16.9 standard, including the outer diameter, thickness and other parameters of the flange.
The main part of the nipple connects the flange and the interface at the other end. Its length is determined according to different application requirements and standard regulations. The wall thickness of the nipple is determined by factors such as the pressure level, pipe diameter and material used in the pipeline system. Generally speaking, in high-pressure pipeline systems, the wall thickness of the nipple will increase accordingly to withstand higher pressures. The inner diameter of the nipple matches the inner diameter of the pipeline to ensure the smooth flow of the fluid in the pipeline and reduce the pressure loss and turbulence caused by changes in pipe diameter.

Connection method
Welding connection:
Butt welding is generally used between the butt welding flanged nipple and the pipeline. This connection method can ensure the connection strength and sealing between the pipeline and the nipple, and reduce the risk of leakage. When welding, it is necessary to select appropriate welding materials and welding process parameters according to the materials of the pipe and the nipple to ensure the welding quality.
Flange connection:
The flange part is usually used to connect with the flange. The flange and the flanged nipple are fixed together by bolts, and a sealing gasket is placed in the middle to achieve the sealing and connection of the pipeline system. This connection method is easy to disassemble and repair, and is suitable for pipeline systems that require frequent maintenance or replacement of parts.
