ASTM A182 Socket Weld Flange
One end of the ASTM A182 socket weld flange is a socket structure, and the pipe can be inserted into the socket for welding connection. This connection method has a certain degree of flexibility and can absorb a small amount of displacement and vibration of the pipe. At the same time, it is relatively easy to install and has good sealing performance.
ASTM A182 Socket Weld Flange designed in accordance with ASME B16.5 standards, is a high-integrity flange used for creating a secure pipe connection in high-pressure systems. This flange type features a recessed area for the pipe to be inserted before being welded around its outer diameter, ensuring a robust, leak-proof joint.
Socket Weld Flange type is extensively used in applications across the oil and gas, chemical processing, and power generation industries, where reliable and maintenance-free connections are critical for system integrity and safety.

Manufacturing process
Raw material selection: Select appropriate alloy steel or stainless steel bars as raw materials according to the use requirements. The raw materials must meet the chemical composition and mechanical properties of ASTM A182 standard.
Forging process: The raw materials are processed into flange blanks by forging process. Forging can improve the metal structure and improve the strength and toughness of the flange. During the forging process, it is necessary to control the forging ratio, forging temperature and other parameters to ensure the quality of the flange.
Machining: The forged flange blank is machined, including turning, drilling, boring and other processes to achieve the dimensional accuracy and surface roughness required by the design.
Heat treatment: According to the different materials, the processed flange is subjected to appropriate heat treatment, such as solution treatment, tempering treatment, etc., to eliminate internal stress, improve the structure and improve the comprehensive performance of the flange.
Surface treatment: In order to improve the corrosion resistance and aesthetics of the flange, it is usually subjected to surface treatment, such as pickling, passivation, galvanizing, etc.
